On Tuesday, November 12, in Baku, within the framework of the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Asian Development Bank Masatsugu Asagawa. During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of 26 years of cooperation, during which the Asian Development Bank financed 158 major projects, including energy infrastructure, transport, agriculture and education.
The emphasis was placed on the importance of attracting additional investment and continuing economic reforms to increase the resilience of the Tajik economy to external challenges.
Particular attention was paid to the need to allocate grant funds to support the reform process, the state budget and the implementation of priority projects. The prospects for the development of industry, agriculture, hydropower, as well as the digitalization of the economy and the introduction of "green" technologies in various industries were also discussed.
